This Privacy Policy explains how Choice Pursuits Technologies LLC ("Choice Pursuits," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the VerbalCheck platform.

Purpose of Data Collection

We collect data to provide academic integrity services, verify student authorship, deliver coursework workflows, and support institutional reporting and compliance requirements.

FERPA Compliance

We operate as a school official under FERPA when processing student education records on behalf of participating institutions. Data is used only for legitimate educational interests and in accordance with institutional directives.

GDPR Lawful Basis

For EU data subjects, processing is based on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests in maintaining academic integrity. Where required, we obtain and honor consent.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide services, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Institutions may request deletion or return of data at the end of service or per retention policies.

Subprocessors

We use vetted subprocessors for hosting, storage, analytics, and communication services. A current list is available upon request.

Security Measures

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including access controls, encryption in transit, audit logging, and secure development practices.

Breach Notification

We will notify affected institutions without undue delay and within 72 hours of confirming a reportable security incident, consistent with applicable law.

User Rights

Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data, subject to institutional and legal requirements.
