AI use in VerbalCheck

  • Generate or assist with assessment prompts where configured.
  • Transcribe or analyze student oral responses where configured.
  • Support instructor review, feedback, scoring, or authenticity-related workflows.
  • Power help and support features that answer from approved VerbalCheck documentation.

Data sent to AI subprocessors

VerbalCheck may send the minimum information needed for the requested feature, which can include assignment context, submitted text, response transcripts, audio, prompts, and analysis instructions. The exact data categories depend on the enabled feature and institutional configuration.

Training and reuse

VerbalCheck should not use institution-controlled student records to train public AI models. Where AI subprocessors offer Zero Data Retention or equivalent enterprise privacy controls for covered endpoints, VerbalCheck should use those controls when available and configured.

Human review

AI-assisted outputs are intended to support academic review, not replace institutional judgment. Instructors and institutions remain responsible for final grading, academic integrity decisions, and student support actions.
