K-12 and minor-user review

Deployments involving minors should be reviewed against the institution age range, consent model, acceptable use policy, account provisioning process, and applicable federal, state, and local student privacy requirements.

Student data controls

  • Limit access to authorized students, instructors, administrators, and support personnel.
  • Use institution-approved account provisioning and LMS launch paths where possible.
  • Avoid unnecessary collection of student information beyond what is needed for the assessment workflow.
  • Route parent, guardian, or student access requests through the institution where the institution controls the education record.

COPPA note

If VerbalCheck is used with children under 13, the institution and VerbalCheck should confirm the required consent, notice, and contractual model before deployment.
