Reading Your Results

Use the results page to view your score summary and any instructor comments.

If a rubric is attached, review criterion-level performance for targeted improvement.

How Your Final Grade Is Calculated

Your final grade starts with your essay score (points out of the assignment maximum). Your instructor can set the essay score directly or calculate it from a rubric.

Interview completion can reduce your final grade depending on the assignment Interview Weight setting (how strongly interview completion affects the final grade).

Some assignments require 100% interview completion. When that setting is enabled, partial completion is treated as incomplete for grade calculation.

Calculation Overview

Conceptually, VerbalCheck applies an interview completion multiplier to your essay points, then applies any instructor adjustments. Multiplier = W + C x (1 - W) Final points (before adjustments) = essay points x multiplier In this formula: - W is the assignment Interview Weight (0% to 100%). - C is your interview completion rate (0% to 100%).

If Your Grade Looks Lower Than Expected

Check whether your interview is fully completed. If you still have questions about the assignment grading settings, contact your instructor.

View Full Rubric

Use the View Full Rubric option to inspect all criteria and level selections made during grading.

Before grading is completed, you may still see the assigned rubric structure so expectations are clear.
